Ground Level — Temper (Arron Bird)'Decade' Collection 02 | Limited Edition of 50 Worldwide Box Canvas Print
Some artists paint pictures. Temper paints history.
Ground Level is a piece that carries the full weight of Temper's extraordinary journey from the streets of Wolverhampton to the walls of Whitehall Palace. Taken from the highly sought-after Decade Collection 02, this work sits firmly within one of the most celebrated bodies of art to emerge from the British graffiti scene, created by an artist whose influence on the medium simply cannot be overstated.
Temper real name Arron Bird is critically acclaimed as the most naturally gifted graffiti artist of his generation. Turner Fine Arts To date, all of his 28 collections have sold out a remarkable record that speaks not just to his popularity, but to the enduring confidence collectors place in his work as both art and investment. In 2008, his Post Graphaelite collection sold for £1.4 million a record for graffiti art in the UK and was exhibited at the Royal Whitehall Palace, another first for a graffiti artist.
Temper has developed a unique style that ranges from illustrative and freehand traditional graffiti to detailed figurative work reminiscent of the Old Masters and breath-taking photorealist landscapes. It is this extraordinary versatility and his ability to infuse raw street energy with genuine fine art sensibility that has made him a collector's artist like no other.
Ground Level is presented as a limited edition box canvas print, edition of just 50 worldwide an exceptionally tight run that underlines its rarity and long-term collectability. This piece is offered for sale on behalf of a private collector; one of a number of Temper works we are privileged to represent from collectors who are moving on for personal reasons downsizing, relocating abroad, or realising the return on a considered investment. Each and every one of these works has been held with care and pride.
If you are new to Temper's world, we encourage you to explore his career from his early days with fellow graffiti pioneer Goldie, to his landmark Coca-Cola Sprite campaign that saw his artwork appear on over 100 million cans across Europe in what was the biggest graffiti advertising campaign ever seen, to private commissions for the likes of Roman Abramovich, Saatchi & Saatchi, and the BBC. He was the first graffiti artist to be awarded a solo show in a major public gallery Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery in 2001 which went on to break all attendance records. Turner Fine Arts
