Since returning to his homeland, Hamad has gone on to present nine major exhibitions and now commands over 81,000 followers on Instagram Instagram, where he is celebrated as a cultural figure across the Gulf region. His journey from child prodigy in England to celebrated artist in Kuwait is one of the most compelling stories in contemporary Middle Eastern art.
Girl Writing was personally sold by Turner Fine Arts to a private collector, with whom it has lived for the past decade. As that collector prepares to relocate abroad, this piece so rarely seen on the open market is now available to a new custodian. Works from Hamad's earliest collections almost never surface for resale. This is a genuine opportunity to acquire a piece of art history: a window into the very beginning of a remarkable career, made at the moment the world first took notice.
