An exquisite pair of early 19th-century gilt bronze candelabra, likely English from around 1820. These rare candelabra feature three branches adorned with tulip nozzles and petal-cast drop pans, embellished with cut-glass lustres. They stand on gryphon-cast tricorn plinths and platforms, showcasing a unique design that distinguishes them from typical French styles.

While French dominance in domestic bronzes persisted from the 18th century, English manufacturers caught up in the early 19th century, possibly due to import blockades during the Napoleonic wars. The candelabra exhibit exceptional craftsmanship with their unusual form and well-preserved gilt work. Originally from a private collection in London.
