Ronnie Wood was born in 1947 in Middlesex, England, into a musical and artistic family. Before beginning his musical career he received formal art training at Ealing College of Art, London.
He started his musical career with The Birds, joined The Jeff Beck Group and when they split he joined Faces. He then started several solo projects and joined The Rolling Stones in 1975 and they are still touring now! Throughout this incredible music career Ronnie continued his painting and drawing using the musicians that surrounded him as inspiration.
His subjects range from musicians he knew, admired and sometimes played with, to family, close friends and even self-portraits. He could be found as often with a pencil in his hand as his guitar.
It was actually in America in the early 1980's that Ronnie produced his first prints which were three woodcuts and a series of monotypes. He threw himself into printmaking with relish, and in 1987 he welcomed the opportunity to spend several months working in a professional printmaking studio in England. Since then he has devoted a considerable amount of time to printmaking and has produced a number of images using various techniques including etching, drypoint, screenprint and digital. He even opened his own art gallery - Scream in Mayfair in 2006.
His work has been widely exhibited all over the world.
