Born in Lublin, Poland, Joanna Ladowska's introduction to art came from her godmother and mother. From an early age, the talent of the young rebellious Ladowska shone through. As a young cartoon fan, Ladowska concealed many of her works from her parents and failed to do her chores. Instead, many of her early works were published in children's magazines for Pok€mon fans.
Being introduced to the worlds of graphics, design, analog and digital photography, painting, drawing, sculpting, printing and composition her repertoire was expanding considerably, but her passion remained in the medium of pencil, particularly the human face.
Due to her dedication and hard work, Ladowska gained the Prime Minister's Scholarship as well as a scholarship from the Mayor of the city of Lublin. Ladowska's breakthrough came in 2010 as she was granted her first exhibition at the Cultural Centre, Leczna. A solo exhibition of 30 portraits.
A place was then offered for Ladowska to attend the prestigious University of Fine Arts in Poznan, Poland. A remarkable achievement when there is on average only 1 place for every 20 applicants. Ladowska however had already made the decision to leave Poland for England.
Having received much acclaim in the critical art press, Ladowska has entered into the next stage of a flourishing art career, which is now seeing her work exposed to a fresh client base.
